Summer Time Snacks

Pizza, Pizza, Pizza and Baby Pizza
Homemade Potato Sticks

More on food ... on Sunday I made some peach cupcakes with ricotta honey frosting. It was pretty good and I ate two this morning for breakfast.

On Saturday, I went over to JP's and had some vegetarian pizza (arugula, brocolio rabe a lá luzzo's, del fina pizzeria) ... and also snacked on some homemade potato sticks!

On Sunday, I had dinner with Evan and Rakesh at Perry Street. It was raining so hard with hail and lightening, and I didnt want to head out, but I still did. It had literally been months since I've seen them ... and since it's rw week, we figured we'd dine at a nice place. Wish I brought a camera, because there were so many picture perfect moments on the walk towards West End Highway.

Next to come ... a blogpost with pics re: my living space. I'm done painting, and I'm a proud DIY'er (do it yourself-er). Yay!

Summer Time Slacking Update

Summertime Sliders

I've been cooking a lot more meat lately. Last Sunday, I went over to Davis' and made meatballs (black pepper, salt, chilli flakes, garlic, fennel, olive oil, bread crumbs and one egg) and sliders (with tomato, avocado (to make it Californian), and onions)! It was such a meatful day and goes to show that I'm far from vegetarian ...

Last night, I made a different type of meatballs with garlic, scallions, ginger, soy sauce, oyster sauce, cooking wine and cornstarch). It was yummy and I ate the leftovers today for lunch over some homemade coconut rice.

Even I admit this is a lil boring, hopefully by the end of this weekend I'll have a more meaningful blogpost.

Cake and Italian too

Over the weekend, I picked up some organic cocoa (brand: Rapunzel) from Whole Foods and baked some super moist cupcakes (with some creamy cheesecake like surprise). I gave the remaining two that I didnt eat to my neighbor and his mentee Chelsea.

And previously, on Friday night, Davis cooked dinner for all of us - and it turned out quite well. My favorite pasta dish he created was his creamy pesto penne, which he made completely from scratch (fresh basil included). Also, not pictured below is the tiramisu he baked the night before.

Scrambling in San Francisco

All Banana Buttoned Up

Last week went by in a jiffy, everything happened so quickly, particularly bc the end of the week got busy (learned that we need to provide a fairness opinion in 1-2 weeks). I was scrambling all day Thursday to get things done and throughout the entire day (and later weekend), I felt like I was running out of time (didnt eat lunch until 6P). And on my ride to Newark airport I saw Duck Tours bus smash into a Honda Civic ... that caused quite a delay around Lincoln Tunnel.

Even so, I made it in one piece to San Francisco on Thursday evening and ended up pulling an all-nighter. Because I'm a bit tired, I'll leave this to be a photo update -

I finally got to meet baby Evan. It's been so long since I've been around babies, but he was fun and learned how to stick his tongue out (almost)

And got to see family ...

And after a tiring trip home on redeye and work, I decided to make some fruit crumble mostly because I wanted to make use of the blueberries sitting in my fridge waiting to be eaten.
