A Trip to Guy Fieri American Kitchen and Bar

Congrats to Rich for the new restaurant opening at Guy Fieri's American Kitchen and Bar (opened this week).  It was very fun to get a quick tour of the large restaurant that seats 500!  The place is so cleverly decorated with an eclectic mix of vintage paintings, guitars, mooseheads, kitchenware that I didnt want to put my iPhone cam cam down and wanted to capture it all!

Here is the a v quick recap from this evening's trip to the new Times Square restaurant:

Terrific September Weekend :: Instagram Pics

I had such a terrific weekend!  It started off Friday when I super productively spent a few hours in Penn Station (went to DMV, got camera professionally cleaned, shopped at Macy*s and Old Navy, and visited St Michael's).  Saturday am was dedicated to a family session (with 2 boys with the bluest of blue eyes), and in the pm, I went to mass with Tony at St Josephs.  Following mass we shopped at the Strand and had ramen for dinner, which was perfect with the rain.

Then came Sunday - 2 yoga classes (took and photographed) and hung out w the yoga pals a bit after in Midtown East.  And at night, my closest pals surprised me by all coming together and celebrating my birthday, even though it's not for another month. How did they even find Howard? Leave it up to Marissa to coordinate I suppose. A Babycakes vegan apple tart with star shaped candles and a birthday song on a Sunday night (and perfectly curly hair) at a cute vino bar in Tribeca (Terroir) - how could I not be happy?

Thanks a million! Lots of love!

Wells Weekender :: Labor Day Weekend in Maine

It always feels like I am returning to familiarity whenever I visit New England: the trees, the people, the roads never appear to change.  This morning's early sunrise walk was perfect for reflection and a bit of fresh New England air.  Then, it was particularly special when the train on the way home stopped by Dover and Durham, and I passed through even more memorable tracks.

I only spent a day and a half in Wells but managed to snap away and pack in quite a bit.  The weather was perfect allowing us to do so many things  - we ate lobster rolls, laid on the beach, dipped in the water, prepared a burgers and hot dogs dinner, ate late night homemade local ice cream (orange pineapple), baked blueberry muffins, and purchased raspberry jam at the local farm.

Thank you to Marissa for allowing us to stay at her family's home!
